I know we've all said this fourteen dozen times this year, but this series is a damn crucial one for the Jays (as are the next several, while we're at it -- as the Reverend of Ghostrunners fame points out, 27 of their last 40 games are against the competition in the AL East). This is the kind of series you await with jitters; the kind of series that causes shitty sportswriters to invoke the phrase 'gut-check time.' The fact that the first game is a rainout feels just about right for this team this year.

We'll try to get excited all over again tomorrow night, but we hear the weather report's no better for then. This might take a while; not sure how much more disappointment we can stand.

There's Got to Be a Better Way: Sunny stadiums stand empty, domed stadiums (like ours!) have to wait to open. Meanwhile, predictably cold and wet locales suffer rain delays. Take note, schedule makers!

On the Bright Side: Fukudome! He went 3-3 with 3 RBI, nearly won it for the Cubs, and he's a member of our very own fantasy squad. Hell yes.
